The Times or The London Times is an historical English daily newspaper, founded in the 18th century and still among the most read newspapers in England. As of 2016, it has an USA edition.

It was purchased by Rupert Murdoch in 1981, ironically putting it under the same ownership of the far better-selling tabloid The Sun.

Aside from inspiring the names of numerous English language newspapers (such as the Los Angeles Times or New York Times), it has created the famous Times New Roman typeface.

As of 2017, the website only allows to read the beginning of articles, with most of the writing being behind a paywall.
